HAQQ signs with two Egyptian bar associations in one week

In seven days the Lebanese-founded legal AI company became the technology partner of the New Cairo and Southern Giza Bar Associations, putting its tools in front of more than 55,000 Egyptian lawyers by its own count.

On 11 October 2026, HAQQ Legal AI signed a strategic partnership protocol with the New Cairo Bar Association at the American University in Cairo, during the National Forum on Data Protection and Governance. HAQQ became the association's official and exclusive technology partner for legal technology and digital transformation.

Six days later, on 17 October, it signed a second protocol, with the Southern Giza Bar Association, this time as its official technology partner. Al-Gomhuria and Al Mal News reported the signing the same day. The association's president, Nasser Maher Awad, said the protocol is part of the association's push to develop the services it offers its members.

Why it matters

Two bar associations in one week puts a product built by a Lebanese-founded team in front of more than 55,000 Egyptian lawyers, according to HAQQ: more than 33,000 in Southern Giza and about 22,000 in New Cairo. HAQQ's chief executive, Antoine Kanaan, calls Egypt one of the largest legal markets in the region.

A bar association reaches lawyers in a way no vendor can, through its training, its events and the trust of its members. That is the door HAQQ has now walked through twice.

It caps a strong year. In February 2026 HAQQ raised 3 million dollars in a round led by Sowlutions Ventures, as Wamda and L'Orient Today reported at the time.

What the partnerships cover

Seminars, training programmes and workshops on using AI in legal research and drafting, on digital security, and on professional development. In New Cairo, HAQQ says it will help run at least one legal technology event every three months. With Southern Giza, the two sides now set their priorities and technical requirements before the programme starts.

What we are watching

We are following HAQQ and will report how this unfolds: the first training programmes, how many lawyers take up the tools, and whether more bar associations follow. Its entry on the Cedro register is updated as the story moves. HAQQ is also the subject of LAW-001 in The i.
